Every year Thomas and friends make their annual pilgrimage down under to The Workshops Rail Museum, bringing favourite characters and themed activities much to the excitement of their legion of young fans and this time he'll be here for the June-July school holidays.
All of the childrens' favourites and their friends will be back, including Thomas the Tank Engine, The Fat Controller, Annie and Clarabel, D199, Trevor the Traction Engine and George the Steamroller and the hugely popular Thomas Play Pit.
Children can hear stories from the Fat Controller, dive into the Thomas Play Pit, find the hidden Thomas trains on the huge model railway, or let off steam in the Nippers Railway - the indoor adventure playground with signal boxes, model carriages, dress-ups, rail vehicles - and more.
They can also get hands-on with a whole range of special Thomas-themed activities, including craft, colouring in, games and puzzle, take a break and watch a Thomas movie.
Want more? In addition there's the Workshops' own 15 larger-than-life exhibits (including beautifully restored carriages, steam trains and simulators to play train driver) and miniature steam train rides around the Museum grounds outside.
And for the real engine experience, visitors of all ages can take a tour of the workshops themselves, Australia's oldest railway workshops in continuous operation, (which are bigger than Thomas's own Tidmouth Sheds on the Island of Sodor).
*Note that closed shoes are required for workshop tours.
Need to know - All activities and exhibitions are included in the price, so make a day of it.
Nice to know: Food is available at the onsite cafeteria otherwise pack a picnic to eat on the grass outside. Plan to spend a day here to take advantage of all there is to offer.
