Yard Bird Ale House

Stones Corner

YARDBIRD ALE HOUSE AT STONES CORNER HAS CLOSED IN 2018.

Yard Bird Ale House has spread its wings again, this time landing in Brisbane’s inner south side at Stones Corner.

For years a fixture in Fortitude Valley, with the crowds who come for the laidback vibes, the beers and the hearty southern American style eats, this Yard Bird Ale House has set up residence in Stones Corner’s historic Galloway’s building.

Inside the walls have been scraped back to the original handmade bricks, with decoupage pin-up images papered over parts. With the dim lighting, wooden stools and bar shelves with a line-up of whiskey and a steer skull, the place has something of a wild west saloon ambience.

On the drinks menu craft beers and whisky rules while the food menu has something for everyone.

There’s also burgers (pulled pork, cheese, steak, chicken and bacon, vegetarian or vegan (oven-baked chickpea and sweet corn pattie) and finger-lickin’ good Chicken wings (Southern Fried, Chipotle BBQ, Garlic & Parmesan or hotter than hot Death Sentence) in serves of 6, 12 or 20.

Wraps include Pulled Pork, Portuguese Chicken, Grilled Rib Steak or Vegetarian and Vegan options and Hot Sandwiches include The Reuben, 3 Cheese, Chicken and Bacon Ranch and The Cuban.

For those after something lighter there’s a handful of Salads (think Classic Caesar or Pumpkin and Spinach) and Light Meals such as Chilli Cheese Fries, Nachos and Chicken Quesadilla.

Otherwise there’s bar snacks like Beer Battered Onion Rings and Sweet Potato Fries - a perfect accompaniment to a cold craft beer.
