Wine & Larder Bistro

Ashgrove

Wine & Larder Bistro is an elegant little Parisian-inspired bistro dishing up fine food and bespoke wine from its retro shopping strip corner in Ashgrove.

Perched on the corner of an old arcade, with a sibling Arcade Wine bar and bottle shop next door, this cosy hidden gem has a limited amount of seating indoors and alfresco, so bookings are recommended.

The wine menu is quite decadent, with pages of bespoke wines for you to choose from. Each wine is described so that you can determine what suits your preference. The Local Larder encourages diners to try something new, with their expert advice on what tipples you would enjoy with your meal. Local craft beer is also available on tap.

Open for lunch and dinner, the European style menu is concise and seasonal, with entrees including six seasonal oysters with gin & tonic cucumber pearls and Japanese furikake; venison carpaccio, greens, truffle pesto & dried mushroom or twice baked cheese souffle, baked plums, raspberries and micro greens

Meanwhile mains include Greek style lamb cutlets with beetroot hummus, cucumber & mint salad & yoghurt dressing; fresh pappardelle, Moreton Bay Bugs, blistered tomatoes, butter & white wine or confit of duck leg with celeriac puree and wild radish. And for dessert you can enjoy the likes of chocolate mousse with red wine soaked sour cherries or a selection of artisan cheeses.

Can't decide? Then order 'Feed Me Chef!', a heavenly tasting menu with the option of paired wines. Other drinks include a selection of boutique gins and the house cocktail, which hails from world-famous top restaurant Noma.

Good to know - Wine & Larder Bistro has an extensive range of cheeses and salumi, pate and terrines for in-house diners to enjoy or to take away.
