TOO ZERO BAR & INN OF INDLUGENCE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Too Zero Bar & Inn of Indulgence is a new cosy chic French farmhouse-inspired bar serving boutique drinks and exquisite French and American food to lucky Stafford locals.

Amidst the flurry of suburban bars that have been popping up across Brisbane, Too Zero bar is a cut above the rest and is one that is worth travelling across town for.

The finest attention to detail is evident in the décor - a railway sleeper wall is the backdrop to the bar, while opposite, bespoke wine racks made by a Samford blacksmith sit perched above diner’s heads. In the windows are vintage tractor bar seats overlooking the street and at the rear a stunning silver-framed mirror reflects the action.

Not only is it a gorgeous, ambient and rustic nook for a drink, but the food here is a gastronomic tour de force whipped up by award-wining chef and owner Mark, who has trained as a chef in the south of France (a giant photo of the village that he spent time in and holds dear to heart brings the French countryside into the bar).

Wine is the specialty here at Too Zero, with a carefully curated wine list of boutique wines (red, white, sparkling and fortified) derived from regions of Australia, France and Spain, as well as a couple of champagnes.

The cocktail list is extensive, and European inspired, including Sangria to Share, French Martini, Flaming Sazerac, Agave Margarita and Candy Apple or Wicked Chocolate Martini.

As with any good French bar, there’s also a decent array of liqueurs such as Perrod, Campari, Chartreuse, Ouzo and St Germain Elderflower liqueur. Spirits here are also top shelf – think Plantation Rum, Grey Goose Vodka and Tromba Tequila alongside some top notch highland whiskies, while a generous offering of craft beers come from local Brisbane micro breweries as well as from the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. (On tap are Coopers Pale Ale and Sapporo). But onto the food, which is something else.

On weekends (Fri-Sun) Too Zero serves up a breakfast that borders on fine dining – Smoked Bacon Brulee, Breakfast Paella or Baked Ricotta with banana fritter, star anise syrup, berries and peppermint.

The rest of the week and into the night diners can take their choice of Starters such as Sea Salt Pizza Shapes or Mt Zero Olives, Chilli, Thyme and Herbed Cornbread.

Share Plates include Fat Duck Pancakes, Lamb Kofta, Chick Pea Spheres with Baba Ghanoush or Garlic Prawns with Moroccan Butter and Semi-Dried Pepper.

Next up the Mids traverse both sides of the Atlantic, with Mac and Cheese Balls, Bourbon Wings and Chilli Cheese Dogs facing off with the must try Coq Au Vin or One Side Beef Flanks with Forest Mushrooms and Soy Butter.

And Salads come highly recommended – try the Charred Romaine, Black Pig Bacon and Fattoush with Caesar Dressing or the 8 Minute Chilli Egg.

Too Zero may be an Inn of Indulgence but it’s also a café too with boutique loose leaf teas and Veneziano coffee available along with fresh baked daily muffins.

In a nutshell – Too Zero Bar and Inn of Indulgence is the dream spot to take a date, friend from out of town, low key small group celebration, Sunday French country style lunch, cold winter night tete a tete or any occasion when only the best will do.
