Flippin’ The Bird new farm

Flippin’ The Bird is frying quality chickens with paddock-to-plate freshness in their Ann Street restaurant in New Farm.

The little eatery is located near James Street’s Happy Boy, under the trees strewn with fairy lights. There is plenty of seating outside, as well as a table and bar seating inside.

The menu is laden with fried chicken, fresh from Elgin Valley Farm which can be ordered in box meals. Choose from country, spicy Southern or Korean, along with a side. Their chicken can be ordered gluten-free, too. Their sauces are a must-do; they are all made in-house.

The sides and starters are almost as good as the chicken itself, with delicious in-house creations like jalapeno poppers, haloumi fries and even Cajun rice.

The burgers are drool-worthy, particularly their signature F.T.B Burger – butter milk-fried chicken breast, maple bacon, apple slaw, habanero mustard and Texas BBQ sauce.

Need to know – Nearby street parking is available.

Nice to know – Flippin’ The Bird will soon be offering very hot wings, complete with a disclaimer!
