The American Bourbon Bar and Grill is a hidden gem in Springwood serving top-notch American fare from finger-lickin’ chicken wings and baby back ribs to burgers, beer and bourbon.
Located on the ground floor of Hotel Gloria, this American eatery and bar offers an authentic American dining experience from the food and drink to the Americana décor.
Californian born owner/chef, Steven Holbert, has created a mouth-watering menu of classic American favourites and delicious dishes with a Cajun or Hawaiian twist. Start with homemade corn bread, barbecue bacon wrapped Cajun tiger prawns, spicy crab cakes or tuck into Jack Daniels Sticky Maple BBQ, Louisiana Red Hot or not-for-the faint hearted Death wings served with blue cheese dipping sauce.
Hearty appetites can tackle stacked burgers. Try The Ranch 8 ounce beef burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, chilli con carne and avocado salsa, Kentucky Derby buttermilk marinated chicken breast battered, deep fried and finished with chicken gravy, onion rings and slaw, or The Little Piggy That Could slow cooked pork smothered in Jack Daniels sticky maple barbecue sauce with crispy bacon, double cheddar, mac & cheese and slaw.
Besides burgers, there’s grain fed Black Angus chargrilled steaks served with corn on the cob, coleslaw and fries, baby back pork ribs slow cooked for 18 hours and smothered in sticky maple barbecue sauce, and creole dusted, oven baked chicken served with roasted sweet corn chow chow and candied sweet potatoes.
Must try desserts include American fudge brownie served warm with peanut butter, Hershey's chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream, and Cherry Bomb Sundae - vanilla ice cream, cherry pie, chocolate fudge, graham cracker crisps, whipped cream and chopped nuts with a cherry on top.
Child-friendly, kids can tuck into macaroni and cheese, southern fried chicken wings or chicken nuggets and fries, and finish with a bowl of ice cream topped with Hershey's chocolate sauce and Reese's pieces. Fully licensed, the bar is stocked with an extensive selection of bourbon and Tennessee whisky including limited editions and collector’s editions. Drink neat or try a whisky cocktail like Duck’s Fart (Old No 7, Baileys and Kahlua), Flaming Cocaine (Jack Daniels Fire, Bacardi 151 rum and Jägermeister) or Winter Whiskey Sour (Jack Daniels Honey, orange juice and lemon).
Otherwise, there’s American beer bottled and on tap (Coors, Kona and Samuels Adams Boston Lager), Ole Smoky Moonshine and a carefully curated list of Californian, Australian and New Zealand wines.
