Hula Bar And Grill
Fortitude Valley
HULA BAR AND GRILL CLOSED PERMANENTLY AS OF FEB 24 2019.
Hula Bar and Grill is bringing island vibes and tropical inspired food and drink to the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
The tranquil restaurant has taken over the Spanish-inspired Toro Bravo, refreshing the look and feel of the bar cum eatery. There’s plenty of dining tables, booths, bar seating and even an al fresco dining area. The tropical vibes are apparent, with a feature wall that says ‘You had me at aloha’ and palm fronds adorning the bar top.
The menu encourages shared dining with a range of delightful, Hawaiian inspired dishes to choose from. The Ahi Poke would have to be a stand out, marinated in soy, soju and sesame oil, served with an avocado mousse, chilli and sesame seeds.
You can’t go wrong with jalapeno poppers, Hula’s are filled with jack and cream cheese and shallots, then lightly fried.
If you’re a lover of seafood then tuck into their crab cakes, coated in a macadamia crust and served with a red curry cream and salsa.
The Baha fish tacos are to die for, loaded with a red slaw, pico de gallo and pineapple jam.
The menu also features classic favourites like their salt and pepper calamari, served with lime and a charred mango salsa.
If you’re looking for a larger meal, try their Huli-Huli chicken, served with ginger, garlic, soy and pineapple, long beans and a taro mash.
Their cocktails are a stand-out, with delicious creations such as their Watermelon Collins.
Hula Bar and Grill also has their own take on the Pina Colada, using fresh coconut water and a hint of spiced rum.
