Escape Hunt

Brisbane

Escape Hunt is a live mystery game craze that is sweeping the world and now it’s Brisbane’s turn to experience the thrill of this unique adventure, underground in West End.

In Escape Hunt, which is inspired by the popular online “Escape the Room” games, players in groups of 2-5 are ushered into a room with a mock—up crime scene and given the role of visiting London detective who has to race against time to solve it and, ultimately escape. (There’s also elements of being in a live Cluedo game about it).

Confidential file

The 3 games all have ambient historical settings with a Brisbane flavour: Escape from Boggo Road Gaol, Murder in the Barber Shop and Bomb at Government House and players are given an hour within which to find a series of hidden clues, each of which unlocks another one until the very last one, which is the key to freedom.

Each of the games also has a twin mock-up within the venue, so that 2 lots of players can verse each other at the same time in the same game.

And if it all gets a bit too tough, game masters are outside keeping an eye on the rooms and ready to offer extra clues, guidance or any assistance.

Afterwards, the players get to dress up in Sherlock Holmes gear in the centre’s lounge area and take pics as a memorandum of their experience.

As such Escape Hunt is an ideal (and rare) game to suit just about anyone: families, corporate team-building, school leadership exercises, dating couples, groups of teens, hen’s or buck’s nights, birthday parties with a difference and anyone of any age looking for a new cerebral and fun game experience that is unlike any other in Brisbane.

Need to know – Find Escape Hunt underground in the Russell St shopping complex where the West End post office is. Take the driveway to the right and there’s parking onsite and undercover near the entrance.

*A session lasts about an hour and a half, including the prep, debriefing and one hour to play the game. Last session daily is at 8.30pm.
