Death Valley Bar

DEATH VALLEY BAR HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2018.

Death Valley Bar is a cool new craft beer bar, owned by Patience Hodgson and John Patterson of Brisbane band The Grates, with a suburban beer garden and permanent food truck - the Red Robbin Supper Truck - out back.

Located on Wynnum Road in Morningside next door to the Southside Tea Room, Death Valley is a dimly lit drinking den where patrons can pull up a stump on the little patch of astro turf and enjoy a pint or two.

This small, suburban bar has eight beers on tap including locally crafted Fortitude Brewing's Standard lager, Sierra Nevada's pale ale, Murray's Dark Knight porter and Mountain Goat Brewery's Watermelon Collie and the Infinite Radness - a brew created in collaboration with Death Valley.

John and Patience have also teamed up with their mate Rory Doyle (former head chef at Paw Paw and Picnic) to permanently park his Red Robin Supper Truck in their backyard which includes a deck, Yogi Bear style picnic tables and fairy lights.

The menu will change constantly depending upon popularity and season but will include 5 or 6 dishes such as bacon cheeseburgers, cheesy beefy fries (crinkle cut with cheese sauce and beef cheek gravy), chicken and lemongrass Vietnamese curry, spicy jerk chicken with Jamaican rice, beans and pineapple salsa or falafal plates with warm pita bread, tabouli, pickled onion and cucumber yoghurt.
