Doggy Beach

Noosa Heads

Doggy Beach is a sublime slice of offleash doggie heaven tucked away in the Noosa Woods off the Spit end of Hastings Street.

Arguably the most picturesque offleash dog beach in south-east Queensland, Doggy Beach is a large crescent of fine white sand at the wide mouth of the Noosa River, with pearlescent blue water, a backdrop of distant volcanic mountains, hemmed in by the bush of Noosa Woods.

A manmade spit of sandbags marks one end and a waterfront path the other, with several (on-leash) bush tracks leading to the beach.

An abundance of sticks makes for hours of playing fetch in the still waters and dogs can even paddle across to the sandbar at low tide.

It's advisable to BYO water otherwise if you follow the beachfront path to the right, about 10m along there's a tap with attached drinking bowl.

Nice to now - This is a great family-friendly beach, perfect for young swimmers.

Need to know - The best car park is the second major one along Claude batten Drive (just past the Noosa Spit sign) after leaving Hastings St. Look for the shed-like shelter on the left and the entrance is just there. The most direct path to the beach leads from the far right corner of the car park.
