The Letter Lounge Cafe & Gifts
Red Hill
THE LETTER LOUNGE HAS CLOSED IN 2018 AND BEEN REPLACED BY GRAMPS CAFE.
Northside Meetings & The Letter Lounge Café & Gifts in Red Hill serves up more options than a typical cafe. Under one roof visitors will find a cafe, gift and homewares, meeting rooms and a large training room.
Co-owners Judy Gregory and Anne-Maree Jaggs have created a space where having a coffee, a quiet read, a bite to eat, a business meeting or a training event can all be done without leaving their Red Hill premises. And then there's the shopping opportunity, which follows the theme of this clever and somewhat quirky business venture.
At the Letter Lounge Café and Gifts it's all about letters, words, fonts and all things from the world of literature. With menu items named after literary classics (with a twist), custom made vinyl decorating the front counter, chairs covered with fabric imitating newspaper print, glossy black coffee tables with cut-out letters as their base and table numbers causing one to ponder the origins and meanings of common phrases, there's little doubt that someone here has a writing background. Judy has a passion for literature and is the "wordy one" in this business partnership, whilst Anne-Maree brings experience in fine arts and event management.
The cafe sells a great range of word-themed giftware, homewares, and jewellery - it's the perfect spot to find a gift for scrabble enthusiasts, writers, bookworms and those with a passion for the written word. A range of limited edition prints can be found here, along with works of art by local artists. Judy and Anne-Maree also offer a gift finding service for those who need a little help finding the perfect "wordy" gift.
Those looking for a quiet spot to catch up on work will find peaceful spots where it's possible to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat whilst getting on with business. There's no loud music playing here, just quiet background music that is unobtrusive and conducive to a productive visit to the Letter Lounge. A small garden area provides a quiet haven for those who prefer to be outdoors.
Two onsite chefs prepare most of the cafe's fare and can provide catering for meetings and training events. A range of light lunch options and sweet treats are made daily and with names like Scone with the Wind, Much Ado about Muffin and Life of Pi (savoury quiche), reading the menu is sure to bring a smile to customers' faces. And don’t miss the biscuits, iced and decorated to resemble Scrabble tiles.
Brisbane based Elixir coffee and Tea Centre teas are served here, along with a range of cold drinks. Soy, Zymil and almond milk are available. The team at The Letter Lounge Cafe are allergy aware and cater for those with vegetarian, gluten free, grain free and vegan requirements.
Looking for a space to conduct business meetings, interviews, planning sessions or training events? Northside Meetings has it covered, with three meeting rooms all set up and ready to go and a large purpose built training room - complete with audio visual equipment. For an additional charge, Judy and Ann-Maree can assist with facilitation and administrative services and catering packages are available from the cafe.
The cafe also provides a convenient "break out space" for meetings and training events. Judy is also a qualified Justice of the Peace, making it convenient for those who require this service. For further information relating to meeting room and training room hire, please see the website or contact the business.
