Polish Market
Milton
At Brisbane's Polish Club, a traditional Polish Market Day is held on Saturday mornings once a month.
Inside, in the carpeted reception hall, a quirky little market is underway to the tune of Polish songs. offering everything from fresh baked bread and pastries to handcrafts and DVDs.
Trestle tables are packed with Polish groceries such as marinated mushrooms, pickled cabbage, miniature bottles of flavoured vodka.
You'll also find fresh baked goodies such as Polish doughnuts, breads including traditional poppyseed rye, and divine pierogi or Polish dumplings (try the Ruski - stuffed with cheese and potato), while Polish deli and smallgoods ar available for pre-order from Krakus Lawson Brothers.
As well as food products, there's also original Polish jewellery, Baltic linen, christening gowns and hand-crafted boutique Polish wines.
On Market Days there is a small beer garden adjacent, where visitors can enjoy a traditional kranski hotdog and a Polish beer or a coffee and Polish donut.
Good to know - After the market visit, why not settle in for a traditional Polish lunch upstairs at the club.
Need to know - There is limited onstreet parking avaiable nearby.
