Etta James was the original bad girl of music and one of the best soul singers of the 20th century and her tumultuous life story is brought to the stage in the smash-hit show At Last -The Etta James Story.
The soul legend, who influenced a whole range of musical genres and left the world with timeless hits like ‘Tell Mama’, ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’, ‘Something’s Got a Hold on Me’ and her signature song ‘At Last’, is channelled by the sensational Vika Bull with the backing of some of Australia's finest and funkiest musicians.
Written by John Livings, At Last plays homage to Etta James’ long and turbulent career that saw her win six Grammy Awards ® and a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame ©.
As well as influencing a vast array of artists such as Diana Ross, Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart; Etta James has also inspired a new generation of artists from Christina Aguilera and Joss Stone to Adele and the late Amy Winehouse.
Since its world premiere in Melbourne in 2013, At Last - The Etta James Story has played to packed theatres throughout Australia and New Zealand. Now, it returns to Brisbane, with the not-to-be-missed show on at the Brisbane Powerhouse from Jun 27-30.
