Roaring Twenties Cinema metro arts

Roaring Twenties Cinema is a unique opportunity to enjoy a night at the movies as it was 100 years ago.

Held upstairs in Metro Arts vintage movie theatre The Lumen Room, silent movies from the 1920s and 30's are screened and accompanied by a live pianist playing the musical score.

True to tradition, the movies (starring iconic names such as Charlie Chaplin, Mary Duncan and Harold Lloyd), are preceded by shorts, historic newsreels or cartoons.

Behind the venture are Joel Archer of Golden Oldies and Kristian Fletcher, who has been bringing classic cinema to Brisbane audiences for fifteen years.

Joel, who describes the event as ‘the cheapest form of time travel’, has worked with silent film for over a decade and with that runs the unique entertainment company Golden Oldies.

Need to know - Roaring Twenties Cinema is a monthly event. Check their Facebook page for upcoming screenings.
