Spring Clean

Resource Recovery Centres
THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE HERE

Have you discovered a variety of quality household items going unused in your cupboard during this year’s spring clean? From furniture, homewares, collectables, books, hardware items or even sporting equipment, you can give your pre-loved goods a new life by donating them to one of Brisbane City Council’s four resource recovery centres.

Located in Chandler, Ferny Grove, Nudgee and Willawong, items can be conveniently donated during your next resource recovery centre trip by visiting the free recycling area first. Once donated, quality items are sorted before making their way to Council’s Treasure Troves, located in Geebung and Acacia Ridge, for resale.

By donating, you can prevent quality items ending up in landfill and benefit a great charity, with all Treasure Trove proceeds going to the Endeavour Foundation who support people living with a disability.

So, how do you know if an item is suitable for donation? Council’s resource recovery centres accept household items that are clean, undamaged and in quality, usable condition. An easy way to test if an item can be donated is by asking yourself ‘would I give this to a friend?’. If the answer is ‘yes’, it’s more likely the item can be donated.

To discover the joy of shopping second hand and find a bargain, visit Council’s Treasure Troves located in Geebung and Acacia Ridge every Saturday and Sunday from 8am–4pm.
