The Junk Bar

Ashgrove

The Junk Bar is a swoon-worthy, retro drinking den that appears to have been beamed by aliens into a brightly lit suburban commercial shopping strip in Ashgrove.

And that is part of its appeal – it is a stumble across, word-of-mouth kind of place.

Those with an ounce of curiosity as to what lies beyond the heavy curtains and bamboo curtained doorway will be rewarded with the lounge bar that everyone wishes they had around the corner from their home - an intimate lamp lit room with low set vintage couches, a laid back eclectic group of people, a fabulous cocktail list and a turntable playing the grooviest albums of the past decades.

Whilst there are a few delish bar nibbles available, the hungry can order in from neighbouring takeaways and the lovely Junk Bar gals will serve them upon the in-house crockery.

This is definitely one worth leaving the neighbourhood for.
