Felix For Goodness

Brisbane City

Felix for Goodness on Burnett Lane is a must-visit in Brisbane’s CBD – a charming architect-designed café by day and wine bar on Friday night.

Carved out of an old record storage room, Felix for Goodness serves top-notch coffee and delicious premise-baked food.

The window from which Jimmy Hendrix used to gaze out at the world from his poster has been converted into the café’s star feature – a stunning industrial coloured glass  window that once adorned warehouses everywhere, especially crafted by architect and part-owner Peter. (This window also provides a lovely light and air to the cosy space that started life as a loading dock).

Peter’s partner Gretta is the chef who churns out the savoury and sweet baked items that are baked daily on-site, such as egg and prosciutto tarts, fetta, herb and kale scones, banana loaf and cashew ‘cheese’cake.

The brunch-style menu meanwhile features lighter stuff like avocado on olive toast with lemon, bircher of yoghurt, apple and organic berries or filled baguettes as well as more substantial offerings  like goat pie and salad and organic vege tarts.

Coffee is organic, served along with organic teas, healthful smoothies and organic soda pops to drink. Come evenings, there are delicious plates to share with a glass of boutique or organic wine.

Need to know: Felix Espresso can be found towards the Albert Street side of Burnett Lane. Take a moment to spot the gorgeous van Gogh tiny door, just to the right of the entrance.
