Ashgrove

Rufus King Seafoods from Amity Point on North Stradbroke Island brings first class seafood to Ashgrove – and Brisbanites are loving it.

This go-to spot for all things seafood sells whole prawns (cooked and green), prawn meat, crabs, whole fish, fish fillets, mussels, oysters, squid, scallops and Balmain bugs. The fresh salmon and gold band snapper are firm favourites here and walk out the door - perfect for that special seafood meal. It's worth noting that all fish sold at Rufus King is fresh, nothing has been frozen.

The store carries a range of products such as Emelia's gluten free sauces (aioli, tartare sauce and crustacean dressing), Tasman Salt Flakes, Murrumbooee dukkah and spice mixes, olive oil, pasta, Panko breadcrumbs, capers, soy sauce, wasabi and a range of marinades. In a cold cabinet customers will find caviar, Huon Tasmanian Salmon Gravadlax, Hot Smoked Ocean Trout, Smoked Salmon and more.

Looking for quick dinner ideas?  Amongst the house-made meal options are Rufus King's salmon fish cakes, Panko crumbed fish, marinara mix, garlic and chilli prawns and squid rings - all the hard work's done so dinner's on the table in a flash.

Co-owner, Steph says people often make the mistake of thinking of seafood as a summer food, when it's actually perfect for the cooler months.  Think seafood chowder, baked whole fish, paella, curries and soups - all hearty, warming dishes to try during winter.

Not sure what type of fish to buy? Steph is happy to help you select the perfect seafood for your meal - call in and see what's on offer at Rufus King Seafoods. Crabs do need to be ordered in from Straddie so phone ahead to avoid disappointment.

Need to know -  Home delivery to the Ashgrove area is on Thursdays with delivery to other Brisbane suburbs on Fridays.

Nice to know - Rufus King Seafoods' Straddie outlet can be found at 44 Sovereign Road, Amity Point. They can also be found at the Jan Powers Farmers Market at The Powerhouse every Saturday, with the exception of the third Saturday each month when they are at the Jan Powers Farmers Market at Manly.
