Lava Ristorante

Teneriffe

LAVA RISTORANTE HAS CLOSED IN 2023.

Lava Ristorante is an authentic slice of southern Italy in a chic, converted factory on a Teneriffe street corner.

Taking inspiration from the Sicilian town of Linguglossa, which lies on the northern side of Mt Etna, Lava Ristorante combines the renowned cuisine from the region with the warmth of its people to create a chic convivial dining experience.

Lava Ristorante Teneriffe

The spacious high-ceilinged dining room, divided in two by the bar and pizza oven, features polished concrete floors, mood lighting and a massive black and white image of the owner and his dad in their Sicilian village.

On the menu, you'll find a delectable range of traditional Sicilian dishes and southern Italian cuisine, with starters such as grilled camembert, Gamberi Al Peroncino (prawn cutlets with chilli pepper), Costole Lente (slow-cooked marinated Tasmanian beef ribs) and the highly-recommended Polpette di Nonna (Grandma's meatballs) and Cozze Gratinate (crumbed mussels).

An extensive selection of wood-fired pizzas includes Amalfi, Salsiccia, Capri, Capricciosa, Lamb and Porcini, whilst pastas include wagyu, seafood or vegetarian lasagne; bucatoni carbonara; gnocchi genovese; fettuccine gamberi e pancetta; mushroom ad truffle risotto or linguine alla marinara, which comes wrapped in baking paper.

Secondi (main courses) include veal or chicken parmigiana; oven-baked barramundi, scalloppine al funghi; 5 hour cooked lamb shoulder with caramelized onion and potato; Bistecca Fiorentina (1kg T-bone steak) or the must-try Pollo Alla Contadina (Italian farmer style chicken in traditional Italian Napoli sauce and wood-baked).

Dolci (sweets) on offer are tiramisu; nutella calzone; creme brulee, gelato; semifreddo alla fragola (soft frozen cream made from fresh local strawberries) or cannuoli (Italian pastries filled with sweet custard cream and crushed pistacchio).
