NICE THAI BY KID CURRY HAS CLOSED.

Nice Thai by Curry is a stunning, contemporary Thai restaurant in Fortitude Valley, the third in the same fairy-lit street from the owners of the sophisticated line-up that includes Snack Man and Happy Boy.

Kid Curry Fortitude Valley

A quiet contender for Brisbane's best Thai restaurant, Nice Thai by Kid Curry features a chic, minimalist and inviting interior with wood-panelled walls, polished concrete floors, ambient lighting and smooth jazz, while outside the giant fairy lit fig trees form an enchanted backdrop through the windows.

The savvy owners of Snack man and Happy Boy have taken things to the next level at Nice Thai by Kid Curry, with an exquisite menu of classic Thai dishes taken to the next level and bespoke wines to match.

The menu is designed to share, starting with smaller dishes such as Gai Tod sandwich (chicken, pickles, banana chilli relish & mayo on bread); Miang Pla (coconut cured kingfish on betel leaf w/ green nahm jim & paw paw); or delectable Moo Grop (crispy pork belly w/ savoury & sticky palm sugar dressing).

For mains, there's a choice of meat, seafood and vegetable dishes, with the former including Khiao Wan (green curry w/ beef, apple eggplant, bamboo shoots & basil); Gai Yang (½ grilled chicken w/ smoky chilli & tamarind nam jim); or Pad See Ew (rice noodles stir-fried w/ beef cheek & soy sauce).

Seafood dishes include Ch Chee Goong (smashed prawns, stir fried w/ red curry sauce & makrut lime) and Pla Sam Rhot (flash fried fish pieces tossed w/ chilli tamarind & lime leaf) and while vegetable dishes include Khao Pod Tod (corn fritters w/ sweet chilli & peanuts); and Yum Makeua Yao (grilled eggplant salad w/ egg, pork mince, herbs & rice cracker).

Desserts are equally delicious, with offerings such as Khao Neeo Dham (black sticky rice w/ caramelised pineapple & coconut ice- cream; Roti Gulay (roti w/ banana, Thai-tea ice-cream & chocolate ganache); and Itim Bai Toey (pandan ice-cream, coconut, Thai jelly & nuts).

Not only do the Nice Thai by Kid Curry folks know their food, they're also wine aficionados, so there's a cracking curated wine list to match including their own drops produced in conjunction with boutique wineries. The well-versed waiters can assist with choices too.
