Steel Taipan

Dreamworld

Dreamworld’s Steel Taipan rollercoaster opening in late 2021 has struck, with the train now making its’ way around 1.2km of track.

Upon opening, the rollercoaster will feature two snake-themed trains with one featuring the world’s first spinning rear seat, offering an experience like no other!

Steel Taipan will be the first triple launch system in the Southern Hemisphere, featuring a stall and reversed twisted half pipe. It will also feature the world’s first separate spinning gondola attached to the rear of the rollercoaster train, and is based on the world’s number one model, the award-winning Blue Fire Launch Coaster.

Dreamworld’s CEO Greg Yong is optimistic for a late 2021 opening of Dreamworld’s largest ever investment in a single attraction.

“It’s incredibly exciting to see the train now making its way around the track and we can’t wait to offer the experience to Dreamworld’s guests,”, said Mr. Yong. “We can, hand on heart, promise our guests that this will be the most incredible rollercoaster experience in the country – they’ll have to feel it to believe it.”

Good to know - The commissioning process is rigorous, with testing to continue until the completion of all relevant safety approvals, ahead of passengers riding Steel Taipan for the first time.

Need to know - Guests can get ready to ride Steel Taipan with a Dreamworld Saver Annual Pass for just $99, giving them 12 months entry to Dreamworld.
