UQ Playground is a state of the art all abilities knowledge-themed fun zone and features a flying fox, towers and slides, sand and water play and interactive fun zones, as well as an onsite cafe, BBQ and picnic facilities.

Located next to the tennis courts down near the river, the beautifully landscaped playground is connected by paths and bridges that wind their way through the various play zones. Scattered throughout are quotes by poets, presidents and writers and algebraic and physics equations, in keeping with the setting.

Features include a sensory dome, a 40 metre flying fox style zipline, a sandpit where kids can have an archeological dig to discover 'dinosaur bones' or dig sand with play diggers and pump water with an old-fashioned pump.

There are 8 swings, including a special swing for wheelchair users, and a Yalp Memo Zone that combines vido games and oudoor play. In addition musical instruments such as chimes and a xylophone provide more interactive fun for all abilities.

On site there's also a kiosk with covered seating area where you can buy coffee, cold drinks and snacks and a BBQ for those who want to cook their own.

Need to know - There's street parking nearby which is paid on weekdays and free on weekends.
