Day Tripping In Noosaville

Locals have aptly nicknamed Noosaville, the stretch of fine golden sand along the banks of The Noosa River, 'The Golden Mile'.

All along Gympie Terrace on the Noosaville foreshore there are plenty of shady trees and grassy areas to sit, providing an ideal safe swimming spot which is very popular with young families.

Many picnic tables, barbecue shelters and several children's playgrounds also line the foreshore area, not to mention the iconic Big Pelican. The waterfront is a popular fishing spot and real pelicans frequently gather nearby, eagerly awaiting a bit of lunch or dinner.

The flat walkway along Gympie Terrace is very popular with cyclists, joggers, dog walkers and tourists alike, owing to the uninterrupted views over the river. Apart from the views, Noosaville is home to plenty of cafes, galleries, surf shops, bookshops, gelaterias and restaurants serving international and gourmet cuisine.

Boats, stand up paddle boards, jet skis and kayaks can be hired at Noosaville, which is a great way to explore Noosa's canals or maybe even a day trip up the river to Lake Cooroibah and Lake Cootharaba. At the end of the day, Noosaville foreshore is the ideal place to enjoy a simple meal of fish and chips and watch the river pass slowly by.
