Summer Land Camels

Harrisville

Summer Land Camels is a working camel farm nestled in the Scenic Rim, located only 45 minutes drive from Brisbane and just over an hour from Toowoomba and the Gold Coast.

Summer Land Camels

Australia's largest camel dairy and the world's largest camel training facility, Summer Land Camels makes for a fascinating day trip and unique farm experience for families, tourists or groups - where you can partake in camel rides, farm tours and activities, or just visit to meet and feed the animals.

Entry to Summer Land Camels is free, with bags of hay available for a small fee so that you can hand-feed the camels.

Being a working farm, there's so much to see and learn about, and there are plenty of options for you to do just that.

Farm Tour & Taste - Learn about camels and Australia’s camel history, the story of Summer Land Camels so far and much more when you take this behind-the-scenes tour, led by one of the farm's knowledgeable staff. After the tour, you can even taste fresh camel milk and camel cheese that's made on site. Tours are available Friday-Sunday and every day in the school holidays.

Camel Rides - Take a ride on a camel, one of humanity’s most trusted and ancient animal companions. Approx 15 min. Bookings essential, and riders must wear closed in footwear.

You can also enjoy a Sunrise Camel Ride discovering the flora and fauna surrounding Summer Land Camels’ 850-acre farm. On this, over a one-hour long ride you'll see Australian native wildlife like kangaroos, birds, and if you’re lucky, koalas. (2 hours)

The Homestead Cafe's seasonal menu showcases the very best of the farm's camel dairy cuisine along with local Scenic Rim produce. The cafe's Camelcinos and Camellattes are highly recommended, as is the delicious gelato.

The wide verandah of the cafe is the perfect vantage point to gaze over the grazing camels and across at the beautiful scenery of the mountain ranges in the distance. You'll also find tables and chairs outside under the trees, or if you want to really kick back, feel free to pack your own picnic blanket and relax on the grass.

The Farm Store offers an array of products made on the farm to take-home including camel milk, cheese, gelato, and small batch Camel Milk & Honey Vodka, so remember to pack your esky

Camel milk skincare is becoming more and more popular, and the Farm Store stocks a wide range of ethically produced, all-natural and sustainable beauty products to nourish your skin. You'll also find some gorgeous collectables and home wares too, for the camel lovers in your life.

Summer Land Camels hosts a number of special events throughout the year including country markets, kid's days, sunset cocktails with the camels, vodka tasting, and more.

Combining award-winning products with a true farm-to-plate experience where visitors can interact with friendly camels in a number of ways makes Summer Land Camels a unique, must do experience.
