Tides of Brisbane Boat Tour

THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE HERE

Take a trip into the past this summer with the return of Tides of Brisbane, a two-hour guided boat ride that sees Museum of Brisbane’s skilled tour guides lead you on a fascinating expedition to uncover some of the River City’s best stories and secrets.

Last year, the inaugural MoB Tides of Brisbane boat tour took hundreds of history buffs on a cruise around some of Brisbane’s most interesting sights from our iconic Brisbane River. With a new and improved journey for the 2022-2023 season, the Tides of Brisbane boat tour is the perfect way to see our city through fresh eyes.

Tides of Brisbane MoB

Starting and ending at the beautiful City Botanic Gardens, learn about the incredible lives of our First Nations people and the cultural importance of the river. Hear about the early colonial impressions of the area, the convict history and early migration stories.

Tides of Brisbane MoB

The significance of our historic and contemporary buildings in the city and the part they played in our urban development features in the next part of the trip, followed by the history of the Story Bridge and its significance as an economic boost for the city when it was going through difficult times.

Flood stories are a large part of our river’s history and the next part of the tour talks about some of the city’s most remarkable flood tales. A quick pitstop at the Brisbane Powerhouse will allow guests to stretch their legs.

Interesting insights into the personalities and places linked to the river round out the three-hour excursion that will leave you enthralled, enchanted, and looking at Brisbane through a new lens!

Good to know - In addition to the new route, this season will bring fresh perspectives on some of our city’s most iconic landmarks and fascinating stories that were simply too big to cover in the first season.

Need to know - This tour is suitable for most fitness levels. Tours run from November 2nd on selected Wednesdays and Sundays. Bookings are essential.
