Cordeaux Social Club

West End

Cordeaux Social Club is a delightful cafe by day, Euro-inspired wine bar & bistro by night, nestled in a peaceful pocket of West End near Orleigh Park and the Brisbane River.

The corner cafe, formerly Alberto's Shot Espresso Bar, has been given a new lease on life, yet has retained its charming, character features from the wooden floorboards and VJ panelled walls to the vintage, pendant lights suspended from the ceiling.

Patrons can dine inside the quaint space with banquette seating provided along one wall, al fresco in the courtyard or along the footpath, where four-legged companions are welcome.

The day menu includes a selection of deli-style sandwiches such as spiced pork sausage and fried egg with cheddar cheese; coppa cotta ham with oxheart tomato, gruyère cheese and house sauce, and smoked beef with gruyère and gravy on smoked potato bread; served along with salads (Caesar and potato) and Cordeaux's Continental - a plate of capocollo, pickles, soft boiled egg, cheese and baguette.

For something sweet, the cafe offers flaky pastries supplied by Agnes Bakery, or try one of the house-baked treats such as sticky cinnamon scrolls or Nutella-filled doughnuts, accompanied by expertly brewed Black Lab coffee.

In the evening, the seasonal menu features the likes of Coffin Bay oysters with mulberry mignonette, sobrasada served with quince and aged cheese, beef tartare with white anchovy and salt bush nori, or tiger prawns with salami and smoked tomato.

The bistro menu pairs perfectly with the carefully curated, concise wine list which includes white, red, rose and sparkling wines. In addition, patrons can sip classic cocktails like espresso martinis, margaritas, and Aperol spritzes, plus craft beer and ciders.
