Ardo's Wine Bar

Hawthorne

Hawthorne's first small bar, Ardo's Wine Bar & bottle shop brings a taste of San Sebastian to the leafy inner eastern suburb.

Ardo's Hawthorne

Tucked away just off the main dining and cinema precinct of Hawthorne Rd, Ardo's occupies a contemporary concrete and glass space, with a selection of wine along one wall and a counter of delicious pintxos to complement the drinks.

Ardo's Hawthorne

Customers can order wine by the glass or bottle, with a small selection of Australian, Italian and Spanish wines, or, for non-wine drinkers, there's a smattering of beer and cider, soft drinks and spritz.

Ardo's Hawthorne

To accompany there's a choice of pintxos (Spanish-style snacks), cheese (aged cheddar, triple cream brie, Blackall gold washed rind and camembert) and salumi (mortadella, piccante & finocchiona).

Ardo's Hawthorne

Delicious pintxos include mushroom pate, shallot jam, fried enoki: salami & bocconcini skewer; prosciutto wrapped marinated figs; white anchovy, citrus kewpie & green tomato jam; or house marinated olives.

Ardo's Hawthorne

There's also a choice of Conservas (Spanish canned fish/seafood) including classic sardines in tomato; sauce calamari in ragout; trout pate in port wine; stuffed squid Med Style; and smoked mackerel in olive oil.
