Soufflé Japancakes

Greenslopes

Soufflé Japancakes is a petite, pink-hued cafe on Logan Road in Greenslopes, offering the fluffiest, soufflé pancakes with the most decadent toppings, and they even have gluten-free ones!

A sibling for Fluffy Japancakes at Eat Street and Soufflé Japancakes at Westfield Chermside, the new addition to the family provides dining inside the cute pink cafe as well as outside, where you'll find a coffee cart dispensing expertly crafted coffees.

With owners of both Japanese and French/Italian heritage, the menu is a perfect marriage boasting an array of Japanese pancakes (panke-ki) and French crepes.

Sweet tooths will salivate over soufflés such as the highly-recommended Oreo or berry Philadelphia cheesecake, plus pancake stacks topped with chocolate and salted caramel, Nutella, matcha (from Kyoto), or kuromitsu (black honey).

Likewise, French crepes can be topped with a range of delicious ingredients, from butter and lemon sugar, to strawberry jam, and Nutella with strawberries or banana.

If savoury is more your thing, there are crepes filled with ham and Swiss cheese; smoked salmon, baby spinach, avocado, herbs and cream cheese; or prosciutto, gorgonzola cream, walnuts, cherry tomatoes and honey, as well as a savoury soufflé topped with free range egg and your choice of ham, mushroom, or smoked salmon.

But that's not all, the cafe also offers Japanese kure-pu (crepe cone) filled with your choice of fruit (strawberry, banana or blueberries) with sauce (strawberry, chocolate, Nutella, salted caramel, crème anglais) and toppings: matcha, creme brulee, whipped cream, or crushed oreo.

Nice to know - Soufflé Japancakes is just a few doors down from Uncle Lai's, and makes an ideal dessert location following some yummy Malaysian food.
