Brisbane Aquatic Centre

Chandler

The sporting legacy of the 1982 Commonwealth Games is still going strong as the Sleeman Sports Complex, a grand state of the art swimming and sports complex. And despite its outpost location for most Brisbane residents, it is worth a trip, especially in winter climes with its 25m indoor heated pool come 'water park.'*

Set in landscaped grounds of gardens, ponds, walkways, athletic tracks, gymnasium and a velodrome, badminton courts and theatre, the Brisbane Aquatic Centre consists of an Olympic-size indoor pool with stadium seating, a spectacular dive pool (only to be used in supervised classes), the aforementioned indoor 25m leisure pool complete with giant water tunnel slide and an outdoor pool designed for disabled access and lap swimming, alongside a copse of gum trees.

There's also an onsite café, a market on weekends and plenty of parking options but regardless of swimming or sporting intention, this is one swimming pool complex every Brisbane resident should visit once in their life.

Need to know - Check the Daily Timetable for each of the pool's opening hours. The water park slide is open 1-4pm on Satudays and Sundays.
