Bullocky Rest

Joyner

Hugging the shores of Lake Samsonvale, this tranquil and spacious eucalypt treed reserve is arguably one of the best picnic and barbecue spots around.

Bullocky Rest Lake Samsonvale

Its specialness is owed to a combination of exclusivity, spectacular views across the lake to distant ranges, the armies of black swans that are part of the abundant bird life and the well planned lay out of facilities.

Bullocky Rest Lake Samsonvale

All picnic shelters have their own views and car bay and are well spaced so as not to infringe on each other, there are clean toilet blocks, a shaded children’s playground and a walking track that leads through bush to other lake lookouts, some of which are favoured by birdwatchers keen to spot that raptor or quail.

Whilst there, it's worth taking a little drive further around the lake to visit the tiny Samsonvale Cemetery on an historic and picturesque site.
