Carindale Recreation Reserve

Carindale

Carindale Recreation Reserve is a leafy, space-themed park, located less than a kilometre from Westfield Carindale, and the perfect tonic for shopped-out kids – and their parents.

Known by locals as Rocket Park, it’s not hard to see how Carindale Recreation Reserve gets its nickname. The major draw card here is the rocket ship fort, which is not only impressive to look at, but also great fun to climb on and slide down.

The space theme continues with a small moon buggy, a number of different sized moon rocks for kids to clamber all over, plus some space-y activity boards designed to encourage imaginative play.

Other equipment includes a towering climbing web, spinning chairs, horse bouncers, and high-backed swings. There really is something to suit children of all ages, including the very young.

Large rock slabs surrounding the park provide the perfect seating, meaning parents can relax in shaded comfort as their children have an extended play.

The wider park precinct also boasts covered barbecue and picnic areas, a grassy oval, basketball half court, tennis rebound wall, fitness equipment, an off-leash dog area, and public toilet facilities. The Bulimba Creek Bikeway passes through the park and is perfect for a little or a long ride or walk.

There is a decent amount of off-road parking available, however it can fill up during particularly busy times, such as Saturday mornings. If this is the case, parking can be found in the surrounding streets.

Need to know - Carindale Recreation Reserve is at Cadogan Street, Carindale (playground car park accessible via Bedivere Street).
