Riverlife Adventure

Kangaroo Pt

A thriving hotspot for all on-river and riverside activities, Riverlife Adventure is housed in the city’s singular remaining naval defence depot (circa 1888), which itself is nestled at the base of the old Kangaroo Point quarry.

From here potential adventurers can abseil or climb the old quarry cliffs, which until 1976 provided much of the green-tinged pink porphyry stones that distinguish many of Brisbane’s historical buildings and walls.

This is also the place to hire kayaks (for guided or independent paddling) as well as roller blades or bicycles to make the most of the riverfront network of cycle and walking paths.

On weekend evenings, guided night kayaking to the Story Bridge is a splendid way to get a whole new city perspective.
