Show Week

Breakfast Creek Hotel

Two famous Queensland icons come together in August when the Breakfast Creek Hotel hosts its very own Show Week from the 10th to the 16th.

While Queensland gets ready for its beloved Ekka, the historic city pub with the country feel that is located just up the road is putting on a show that both locals and visitors won’t want to miss.

On the menu for the entire week is the must try Outback Rump, a 600 gram char-grilled prime rump that is not for the faint-hearted, dusted in Aussie bush spices and served with beer battered chips, corn on the cob and home made beer relish (for just $38).

As per custom in Show Week the Brekky Creek will be out-bidding the competition at the Ekka Auctions for the Grand Champion in the Prime Steer and the Grand Champion LED Steer – an important component of the Annual LED Steer Charity Auction which is held later in the year.

In addition the 13th consecutive ‘City Meets Country’ event will host some 250 guests while the annual ‘Rocky Round-up’ meet-up sees 50 of Central Queensland's finest cowboys at their Annual luncheon.

Most importantly People’s Day at the Breakfast Creek Hotel offers the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the Ekka crowds whilst embodying the spirit of country hospitality.

For the occasion, which is super family friendly, the hotel will be playing host to a farm yard petting zoo, a face-painting station and live entertainment at the Substation no.41, the southern hemisphere’s biggest rum bar.
