Red Hill

Located in a back street in leafy Red Hill is the popular Red Hill Salvos Store.

Red Hill Salvos Op Shop, Red Hill

Housed in a large tin shed, this comprehensive op shop is one of the largest around Brisbane and offers a massive range of items, both vintage and current day essentials.

On one side of the building, the second-hand ladies clothing extends for rows and rows, and is divided by garment style and size, making it a breeze to stroll around in search of those bargain buys.

A great feature of this location is the Salvos Street Boutique which is where you’ll find more modern pre-loved clothing & shoes in top condition – many of them designer labels and some never worn, still with the original tags on them.

Not overlooked, there is also a section of quality menswear in the Street Boutique.

Taking up most of the floor space on the opposite side is the homewares section where you will find a solid, eclectic mix of collectable vintage and near-new items for just about every room in the house.

Down the middle is where some of the larger pieces of furniture are displayed, and towards the front of the store you’ll often find an array of ever-changing new products for the home – such as washing powder & household cleaning products, candles, beauty & skincare products, picture frames and artworks.

At the rear, the second-hand books are displayed alphabetically for ease of browsing and include the likes of fiction, non-fiction, gardening books, self-help books and children’s story books, just to name a few categories.

There are two buildings adjacent to the main shop – one houses more pre-loved furniture as well as recycled bicycles, and the other is where you can drop off donations.

Need to know – A small section of pre-loved children’s clothes and toys are on offer, as well as linen.

Nice to know – To help stock turnover, different coloured tags are offered at a discounted rate sometimes - keep an eye out at the entrance when you visit for the big sign identifying which colour is on special that day.

Nice to know – There is a small car park on-site and plenty of on-street parking – both are free.
