West End

On Friday and Saturday nights Hardgrave St comes alive as locals and ring-ins descend on this colourful strip of cheap Asian restaurants. And Trang Restaurant, housed in the mint green shell of the 1920’s Rialto Theatre is the most popular for Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine so if you’re heading this way its advisable to book.

Join the gaggle of Asian families seated at the plastic tables tucking into its excellent pho (one of its specialities). Also excellent are the pork paper rolls or if Chinese beckons it’s hard to beat the salt and pepper whole sole and the steamed dim sum.

With the majority of mains coming in under twenty dollars and the restaurant being BYO, the top value is also a drawcard.
