Relove Oxley

Oxley

Relove Inc is a funky Aladdin’s cave of vintage, antique and retro furniture, homewares, bric-a-brac and fashion with quaint in-house coffee lounge in an old Oxley warehouse.

Set in a line-up of corrugated iron industrial sheds from a bygone era, Relove Oxley is easily spotted from Blunder Rd as the one with the quirky signs strewn around a Hills Hoist and lawn out front. Inside you’ll find a mind-blowing collection of collectables, clothes and wares at not much more than op shop prices.

Partners Jason and James have brought their love of and eye for collecting to the mega two-storey space, which downstairs is covered from top to toe with everything from vintage matchbox cars, lamps, table settings, Bakelite kitchen wares, steamer trunks, type writers, Aviator, biker and fur jackets and old skateboards to mahogany side tables, crystal wine glasses, art deco cabinets, hats and caps, old posters, weighing machines, shopping trolleys, cuff links, sunglasses, day beds and arm chairs.

In amongst and a large part of the wares is the coffee lounge, with red booths made from recycled pallets, a brown couch with astroturf-covered crate coffee table outside and the odd gathering of chairs and lounges around tables.

Here shoppers can take a break from browsing and kick back and soak up the atmosphere with a well-brewed cup of Veneziano coffee and some tasty snacks like Byron Gourmet pies, banana or raspberry and coconut bread or carrot slices.

Meanwhile, upstairs is a half-floor mostly devoted to fashion, kids clothes, toys and furniture. Here a rack is devoted to highly affordable glam wear like leopard pencil skirts, satin and tulle frocks, velvet jackets and sequinned bodices while another holds tea dresses, brunch coats, plaid skirts, blouses and nighties. Along one wall is a line-up of bargain Tees from $5 plain to $6 printed while along another wall are shelves of kids casual wear including PJs, swimwear, romper suits and every day tops and shorts.

In addition, there’s an extensive collection of stuffed toys, with everything from old-fashioned teddy bears to Bananas in Pyjamas, the Muppets to Winnie the Pooh characters along with the odd piece of children’s bedroom furniture.

Need to know - Relove Oxley will take selected items on consignment or as donation and can also rent out spaces to other dealers (The Purple Bedroom currently occupies a corner). There's plenty of parking to be had off-street out back, especially on weekends when the other businesses are closed.
