Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights

Each morning owner and Chief Pilot Graeme shares the magic, romance and adventure of ballooning, just 30 minutes west of Brisbane.

From booking through to flying, Graeme and his wife Ruth handle every detail of your Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights experience. The boutique balloon business only operate one flight per day with no more than 10 passengers. All passengers are invited to join in the fun of inflating and deflating the giant balloon. Graeme stays with guests from start to finish and is happy to explain any aspect of how a hot air balloon flies and operates.

Passengers can be assured that they'll be in very safe hands, as Graeme is a CASA approved chief pilot, who has over 31 years’ experience on 3 continents, Europe, North America and Australia. Since 2001, he has been based in SE Qld, so he has an intimate knowledge of the region’s weather, geography and history, for this magical, memorable, must-do experience.

The day begins at pre-dawn when Graeme meets and greets guests at the Ipswich Visitors Information Centre before transporting them to the departure point (only 3-20 mins drive) where they can assist with inflating the balloon.

Once inflated, with passengers onboard, the basket and balloon lifts off as the sun rises for an amazing adventure over South East Queensland - effortlessly floating over the countryside.

An hour later, the balloon sets down, is deflated and exhilarated guests are whisked away for a fabulous hot cooked restaurant breakfast nearby where they’re presented with their flight certificates. Please allow three to four hours for the ballooning program.
