The popular Straddie Arts Trail returns to North Stradbroke Island, across all three townships, showcasing more than 65 local artists and makers, from 30 August to 1 September 2024.

Straddie Arts Trail

The 3-day Straddie Arts Trail will feature open studios, pop-up retail and gallery spaces, workshops and events designed to showcase the inspirational Island and its creatives, as well as support local businesses.

Straddie Arts Trail

This year's Arts Trail includes many well-known Island creatives, new artists and makers keen to show their work, and award-winning Torres Strait artist and activist Alick Tipoti will join the Arts Trail with his amazing art works and a special screening of his feature documentary Alick and Albert. The screening of Alick and Albert will be a highlight at the Arts Trail’s ‘Opening Feast’ on Thursday, 29 August, with delicious local seafood from Perry’s Seafood.

In addition, there are a range of exciting workshops in clay, collage, fibre, aromatherapy, painting, printing and watercolour. Join local artist Bernadette Mollison in her Watercolour Workshop, Clare Purser’s Plein Air Painting Workshop at North Gorge, Elinor Drake’s ‘Paint a Fish on Your Toast Plate’ workshop, and Cath Carroll's little landscapes where attendees can create their own little landscapes on tumblers. Other artists and creatives taking part in this year's Arts Trail include Mahala Burns, Renata Buziak, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins, Jhavon Auda & Mikayla-Haze Adams-Queary, Shara and Sandra Delaney, Koo Ballard, Tamara Armstrong, Diana Greer, Alan McKinnon, Thai and Anita Ong, Kay Cook, Craig Clarey, and many more.

For photographers, the North Stradbroke Island Golf Club is bringing back its popular Photography Competition with over $2000 up for grabs in prizes. Last year’s inaugural competition attracted over 100 aspiring photographers. This year’s theme is flowers!
