Cobbler Bar

West End

Cobbler is the type of bar that you frequently look down side streets for but never find – a cool New York loft style whisky and cocktail lounge that takes its appearance and drinks, but not itself, seriously. Best still, this one can be easily located just off the main action in West End.

Cobbler Bar West End Brisbane

Inside, one entire wall of the gorgeous downstairs space is devoted to a kind of whiskey and tequila library, with ceiling high shelves behind the pressed metal bar packed with over 300 types of whiskey alone. To enhance the whiskey drinking experience, ice is hand cut from giant blocks so that it doesn't melt and dilute the taste, yet keeps the drink cold and for prospective drinkers whiskies are graded into Beginners, Tasting and Masters Levels and Barman's Friend. So it's little wonder that Cobbler is a member of the salubrious Scotch Malt Whisky society.

Scattered around the polished wooden floors down here are a mix of new and vintage armchairs and couches or benches and stools in which to enjoy a drink while upstairs is a mezzanine lounge with velvet and leather couches overlooked by a stunning stencil art wall.

But it's not just whiskey or tequila drinkers who'll find nirvana here, with a fab cocktail list that is categorized into tiki, old-fashioned and classic. And if you don't find what you want on the owner Martin (ex-Sling Bar) can make anything on demand. Also well catered for are drinkers of fine champagne, craft beer, wines and select spirits.

While Cobbler doesn't serve food, it has a policy of BYO, so patrons can bring their own dinner/snacks (and crockery and cutlery) from home or surrounding restaurants.
