Frisco's Bar

Mt Gravatt

Frisco's Bar is a secret subterranean bar tucked away down a laneway in an unlikely location.

The bunker-style bar in Mt Gravatt operates as Steel & Grind by day, offering well-brewed coffee and crepes. On  Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the cafe transforms into a neighbourhood bar where locals can enjoy a craft beer, glass of wine or cheeky cocktail.

Patrons can unwind after work with a drink in hand al fresco, or inside the industrial-styled space with seating available in the open and more private area, with an adjoining alleyway room, or pull up a stool at the intimate, shipping container-inspired bar and watch the bartenders craft cocktails and more.

There's 3 local craft beers and an alcoholic ginger beer on tap from Newstead Brewing and Aether, served along with international brews like Corona and Peroni

The carefully curated wine list is concise, yet the in-house sommelier Trish is keen to grow the wine offerings based on demand, keeping the varietals fresh and seasonal.

Classic cocktails include Aperol Spritz, Espresso Martini and Mojito, while the bar's signature cocktail is the refreshing Frisco Spritz - elderflower liqueur, Prosecco and soda with strawberry and lemon.

Food wise, the bar will begin by offering grazing platters piled with artisan cheeses, cured meats and accompaniments. Then will move into supporting local restaurants by providing menus so patrons can order on-line for delivery to the bar. Mt Gravatt boasts a variety of good restaurants offering delicious cuisine, from Thai and Indian to Malaysian and more.

Nice to know - Frisco's Bar is available to hire for private functions.
