Macchiato Me Espresso Bar

Ashgrove

UPDATE: THIS BUSINESS CLOSED IN APRIL 2024.

Macchiato Me is a pint sized espresso bar found in a small shopping strip on Wardell Street in Ashgrove. Well worth a visit, Macchiato Me serves great coffee and delicious morsels that will tempt even the most saintly.

Owner, Candice Pumarin, is a trained chef and barista whose passion for coffee is obvious and here it is all about the espresso. The beans of choice here come from artisan roaster, Dramanti, whose roasting house is located in Wynnum. A nice little touch is the use of Panela, the most natural form of sugar originating from Colombia.

Sweet treats at Macchiato Me come from neighbouring Queen of Cakes and savoury items are sourced from local bakers. Looking too good for words are the Banoffee Pie Jar and the flourless, gluten free chocolate cake, whilst those old favourites - fresh scones are proving to be very popular.

Cold drinks are pretty special here too and include:  cold drip coffee (brewed onsite using Dramanti beans), three decadent versions of iced coffee, iced mocha, iced chocolate (made with homemade fudge), fresh juices and smoothies.  Or how does a Turkish Delight thick shake sound? Loose leaf teas include black teas, green teas and herbal teas.

Customers can choose to sit at small tables outside or at a beautiful, long, timber table indoors. The décor here is fresh and understated, making good use of the available space. Service is quick and very friendly, making a visit here a very enjoyable experience.

Need to know: A small car park provides limited parking at the front of Macchiato Me. Street parking is available in nearby Stark and Victoria Streets. This is a dog friendly business.
