Cheeky Poké Bar

Newstead

Cheeky Poké Bar is serving up locally-sourced seafood poke bowls and other Asian inspired delights in the trendy Newstead Haven precinct.

The restaurant is large, laden with booth seating and dining tables. It's navy and wooden décor is fitting of the poké bar’s modernity. The open kitchen allows diners to see their dishes being prepared, as well as cocktails being shaken at the adjacent bar.

The menu is abundant with fresh seafood in the form of poké bowls, nori tacos and bone broths – ideal for a guilt-free yet indulgent meal. Whilst you can design your own poké bowl of seafood or chicken, the salmon and the tuna are two of their most desired bowls. With fresh tuna sourced from Portside’s Fresh N Wild Fish, this bowl is served with black rice, noodles, daikon, radish, edamame, wasabi ponzu, wasabi tobiko, egg, sesame, togarashi, Murray River salt and a signature Cheeky nori sheet.

Cheeky’s Signature Tacos are a must-do, which you can also design yourself choosing from nori or wonton shells. The salmon with wasabi mayo is a favourite amongst staff.

Diners can also order from a menu of side dishes which include popular Asian delights such as shichimi edamame and a sashimi tasting plate.

Their cocktails certainly can’t be missed, with flavours such as a Lychee Mojito and a Cheeky activated-charcoal and chilli concoction. Cheeky’s also has kombucha on tap – which can be ordered as a Kombucha Collins.

Need to know – Limited parking is available in the Haven residence complex, otherwise head across the road to Gasworks.

Nice to know – Cheeky Poké Bar is a second business to the owners of Portside Fresh N Wild Fish.
